My story

How Shanti and Me came to be

I am Angie Kieffer, though the name that fits me best is Shanti. For years I have lived at the meeting point of two loves: the wellbeing of animals and the practice of helping nervous systems, human and animal, find their way back to calm.

That path led me through Reiki, through a 200-hour yoga teacher training, and into nature-informed therapy. Along the way I kept noticing the same truth: when we tend the bond between a person and their companion animal, both of them heal a little.

Shanti and Me is how I bring that work into the world, through grooming, pack hikes, sound baths, and retreats.

My animals, my greatest teachers

My dogs are more than companions. They are my co-pilots on the trail, my grounding presence in a sound bath, and often the first to show a nervous dog that this is a safe place to be.

My home is shared with the animals who shaped this work, and they are woven through everything I offer. They are the reason I believe so deeply in stewardship: the quiet, daily practice of caring for another being well.

What guides me

The beliefs I work from

Every animal deserves to feel safe before anything else happens.
A regulated nervous system is the foundation of real wellbeing.
The bond between a steward and their companion animal is worth tending with skill.
Nature is a partner in healing, not just a backdrop.
